Dr. Dave Rodgers

Dr. Dave is a dynamic entrepreneur and investor. PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION

Despite Dr. Dave's career accomplishments, relationships, and community service, his weight posed a persistent challenge. At 5'7" and 210 pounds, clinical obesity overshadowed his sense of achievement. A heart attack during a bike ride served as a wake-up call, and his medication's side effects compelled him to confront his weight.

Opting for a self-guided health approach proved futile, prompting a shift from a know-it-all mentality to one of openness, discovery, and learning. Turning to others' experiences, he uncovered a transformative program that marked a turning point. The program's structured guidance led Dave to shed an additional 49 pounds in five months. However, a lapse back to old habits resulted in a weight rebound.

Learning from this setback, he immediately sought the support he needed to sustain the change for a lifetime and now easily maintains his ideal weight of 141-149 pounds. Beyond the weight loss, this journey marked a profound self-discovery and transformation in a way he never imagined possible. Dave's enhanced physical health and vitality had a ripple effect, positively influencing his work, relationships, and ability to empathize with and support others in overcoming barriers to achieving their personal and professional dreams.

Accepting the role of Managing Director at The Institute for Individual and World Peace (IIWP) influenced Dr. Dave's trajectory. IIWP, a global peace organization with a retreat property in Santa Barbara, CA, is dedicated to teaching the Process of Peace. This approach emphasizes that cultivating inner peace is the most effective way to contribute to global harmony.

Amidst frustration and challenging staff dynamics, Dave faced a turning point. Discouraged, he sought guidance from IIWP's founder, who transformed his perspective in just two statements. The founder expressed,

"We didn't hire you for your skills and ability."

Perplexed, Dr. Dave sought clarification, and the founder elaborated,

"We hired you because your direction aligns with where we are going. None of us has ever done this before. If we had, we'd tell you how to get there."

This revelation underscored the importance of shared direction over possessing all the answers or a perfect plan.

Post the International Trade Center and Pentagon attacks, Dr. Dave proposed a response. Still, his staff questioned the existing approach, asking, "Do you think what we are already doing is off track?"

This query prompted introspection, and Dr. Dave, sensing the pain and hopelessness, observed individuals trained in the Process of Peace holding hope until others could rediscover it for themselves. These profound experiences continue to shape Dr. Dave's belief in the inherent capability of individuals to realize their dreams and influence their environment, culture, and the world.
